Sue's Workshops

Signing With Sue offers workshops for kids, parents and educators to enhance understanding and promote diversity. These workshops are interactive, fun and adaptable. They also promote diversity and tolerance among children and adults.

Signing With Sue workshops teach children (and adults) basic sign language by using fun projects, games, videos, stories and songs. Some of the many signs Sue teaches include:

  • ABC’s
  • Numbers
  • Seasons and holidays
  • Animals
  • Feelings
  • Family signs
  • Sports
  • Common phrases and greetings

ASL Workshops for Children

Signing With Sue workshops are designed to be a fun way for elementary school aged children to learn about disabilities and alternative ways of communication. Workshops are typically 1-2 hours long. Sue Lindberg tells popular children's stories using ASL and teaches animal, holiday and other age-appropriate signs. The children are engaged in activities, like coloring, charades and other games, which help them apply the lessons and become comfortable interacting with someone who has a disability.

Fees for the workshops are negotiated depending on the length of the engagement and the number of children involved. For a one-time, one hour visit with 5-10 children, Signing With Sue charges a flat $30 workshop fee plus the cost of hand-outs.

Intro to ASL Presentations (for Adults)

Signing With Sue presentations are focused on basic sign language instruction for parents and professionals. The 1-2 hour lesson focuses on ABC's, numbers, common nouns, adjectives and verbs. Signing With Sue charges $30 per hour training fee for the lesson plus the cost of handouts for the presentation.

ASL Camps (Coming Soon!)

Signing With Sue will offer ASL Camps to children over the summer months and to eventually expand this service in order to offer ASL Camp sessions throughout the year. These Camps will meet one time per week for 6 weeks. Each camp session is an hour long and is geared to 8-12 year old children.

If you would like to schedule a workshop or presentation, or learn more about upcoming ASL Camps, contact Sue at .
